Bengali Sita Bhog is a delightful dessert that combines rice and chena vermicelli with mini jamuns called Nikuti. Here’s how you can make it:

Bengali Sita Bhog Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Govind Bhog rice (soaked in water for 1-2 hours)
  • 1 cup chena (cottage cheese)
  • Milk (for kneading the dough)
  • Oil (for deep frying)
  • Raisins
  • Cardamom powder
  • Saffron strands
  • Sugar (for syrup)

Instructions:

  1. Grind the soaked rice into a fine powder.
  2. Mix the rice powder and chena to form a soft, firm dough.
  3. Prepare a sticky sugar syrup by boiling sugar and water.
  4. Shape the rice-chena mixture into oblong pieces using a grater or sev maker.
  5. Deep fry the pieces until golden brown.
  6. Soak the fried pieces in the sugar syrup for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Serve the sweet and flavorful Bengali Sita Bhog along with Mishti Doi or as a dessert after a Bengali meal1.
